February 12, 2018 - fall Denim
Arguably one of a best tools of make-up for a beach getaway is shopping a span or dual of sandals for a trip: strappy styles for calm evenings, colorful slides for a pool, spacious espadrilles for roving bikes. But there’s no shoe that can replicate a feeling of unclothed feet in a sand. So was Ralph Lauren’s import during his tumble ’18 runway uncover on Monday during New York Fashion Week. The heralded American engineer sent many of his models down a runway barefoot, wearing usually blue and white floral dresses that ached for a pleasant vacation in, say, St. Kitts and Nevis.
When Lauren did embody footwear, it was of a vacation-appropriate variety: There were elementary board espadrilles for a guys, and a span too for Bella Hadid, who non-stop a uncover in a denim and plume minidress matched with leather and denim espadrille wedges. There were other strappy sandals for women and even a few white rubber sleet boots (the ideal shoes for cleaning a vessel after holding it for a cruise in a Caribbean).
The whole collection, shoes and all, was startling in a springtime, even resort-like feel. There were no corpulent weave sweaters, roving jackets or shearling and suede coats, no knee-high oiled leather boots or any of a other signature pieces that Lauren has mostly showed during his tumble collections.
