Jaden Smith Partners With G-Star Raw on Sustainable Denim Collection
March 19, 2018 - fall Denim
Following on a heels of a “Most Sustainable Denim Ever” release, G-Star Raw is scheming to launch some-more sustainable denim for Fall 2018, this time in partnership with Jaden Smith. The multi-hyphenate teen says he initial became meddlesome in a code since of Pharrell‘s impasse with it.
“I was initial brought into G-Star by Pharrell, someone who we honour and admire,” Smith pronounced in a statement. “What they have been doing with tolerable creation recently has been so inspiring… It’s a same thing I’ve been perplexing to do with my JUST Water initiative, to innovate in an attention where there is so most room for improvement. G-Star is a good place for me to collaborate, learn and make a certain impact on denim and fashion.”
Smith is, of course, no foreigner to a universe of fashion. At 19, he’s already seemed in ad campaigns for Louis Vuitton, done waves on a Met Gala red carpet, been a lead voice actor in a stylish anime-inspired animation “Neo Yokio” and been a cover star for magazines like Vogue Italia and Interview. And carrying co-founded JUST Water, an eco-friendly H2O bottle company, with his father Will Smith, Jaden already knows a thing or dual about environmental issues. It seems fitting, then, that Smith would get concerned with G-Star, that has been pulling a bounds of sustainability in denim for years.
“These guys are during a forefront of denim manufacturing, in a world, and are formulating and conceptualizing denim with a circular economy and sustainability in mind,” Smith pronounced around email. “That’s because I’m unequivocally unapproachable of a collection we’re operative on together.”
We know it will be a denim collection set to launch this fall, yet over that there’s no word nonetheless on what accurately to design from a collaboration, yet both parties seem understandably excited.
“Jaden is a creator, an artist and an impulse for a subsequent era who wish to have a certain impact on a universe around them,” G-Star CMO Thecla Schaeffer pronounced in a statement. “He inspires us to keep severe a conventions of tolerable creation in a denim attention and we are respected to have him as a partial of a G-Star Family.”
